Applications - PT FirstOne® and Shipbuilding

Applications Fire protection in shipbuilding
The highly efficient construction material for innovative fire protection shows its strengths in practice.

With PT FirstOne® as a construction material, individually designed elements and modules with high strength can be realised for ship outfitting. In addition to the protective effect required by the legislator, they also enable design aesthetics that are unsurpassed in this area.

PT FirstOne® the lightweight

The specific weight of PT FirstOne® is up to three times less than currently used materials. This advantage pays off when operating the ship, as it can reduce the weight of the entire vessel.

Cladding elements

Typical cladding elements such as window boxes for passenger cabins made of PT FirstOne® are produced using moulding tools.
In the process, the design wishes of the shipbuilding architects can be fully taken into account. The easy processability of PT FirstOne® also has a very positive effect on the manufacturing costs of the elements.

PT FirstOne® is also the first choice for classic shipbuilding elements due to its excellent properties:
Bulkheads or cabin walls can be completely prefabricated and quickly and efficiently installed in the ship’s hull due to the low weight of PT FirstOne® compared to conventional materials.

Decks in shipbuilding

Fire protection of decks is given special importance in shipbuilding.
PT FirstOne® is ideally suited to prevent the spread of fires in the event of a disaster, as it offers excellent fire protection properties.

IMO regulations

PT FirstOne® has been tested and certified in accordance with all relevant IMO regulations, especially with regard to fire protection in shipbuilding. Our aim is to continuously improve and develop PT FirstOne® in order to meet future requirements.
